What I do find interesting is the increasing emphasis on "faith". I've never heard so much spiritual discussion in a campaign before.

Maybe you guys don't want to get into this but I'd be interested in anybody's opinion on the candidates. Personally, I find it a bit scary - I don't know if anybody is qualified.

You are right on Jerri. I think it is because people want to believe in something/someone. The public has lost faith in their elected officials.
I actually had to get with my husband to see what Mormon's believe and I was surprised. |

Isn't it strange that it appears that we will not know the nominee either Democrat or Republican until the National Convention is it in August? I am already tired of the whole thing.

Does anybody have an opinion they would care to share? I suspect it's going to get dirtier as we get closer to the end.

Well, I think my gal is out of the race Jerr. I am pretty disappointed. I believe with all my heart that she would of done a good job. I feel she has been fighting for women and children plus healthcare for a longtime.
I will still vote Democratic no matter what. Michelle |

I'm still rooting for Obama. He's looking closer to being the democratic nominee.
It's a sure bet that McCain will be the republican nominee. I love all this political stuff. I wasn't much into it up until the 2000 election. DXH and I both really got into it; 2004 as well. This year especially, since my mom is so into all of it. We both watch the same pundits (although she watches a lot of CNN and I don't). |

I'm also still rooting for Obama. I'm skeptical of Hillary's universal healthcare plan, because I think the insurance companies and their lobbyists will still be in control and that the outcome of that may still be ruthless and maybe even moreso. If she wins the nomination, I will vote for her though, because I'm a Democrat....

I was totally lost on who to support until last night when I heard the candidates speak after the Texas, Ohio primaries. I now support Hillary 100%. Obama
scares the hell out of me. When I saw him last night and actually looked in his eyes I saw something that really scared me. I really don't know where he
stands on any topic and after last night I think he is a wolf in sheeps clothing. Just my personal opinion of course.

Hi all...I have been a Hillary supporter from day one, although I was skeptical about her plans for health care (wondering if "universal" care could
actually be put into practice). However, I have recently been reading her web site and all about where she stands on the important issues. I don't think
that her real plan is coming across clearly to the public...it's a lot to explain right now, but she is NOT trying to implement the type of
"universal" health care that countries like Canada and the UK have. That would just never work here; the insurance companies are too powerful. The
gist of it is that those who are happy with their current plans can keep them; and those who don't have any insurance will have access to the same
insurance plans that members of Congress have. She also would fight the insurance companies to do away with the "pre-existing condition" exclusions.
That way, if you lose your insurance and have a pre-existing condition, you cannot be denied health insurance in the future.
If you want to read more about all this, you can check out the "Issues" section of her web site: http://www.hillaryclinton.com/issues/ |

What scared me about Obamma.... | ||
|
I stayed up late to watch the results from Ohio and Texas. What bothered me about Obamma was that he was mad that he lost. You could see it, and Michelle
Obamma was trying to get him to smile. I thought to myself "Oh great we don't need another hot head in the White House." I just didn't
come up with that opinion myself as my aunt from Texas noticed the same thing and we discussed it this morning. Despite Hillary losing all those states she
never looked really mad. Tiffany I think that is a side of his personality you saw that night, but that is just my opinion as well.

I agree...I think Obama is a "hothead" and that he actually does give off a creepy vibe! I guess I should clarify...I have
never been a huge fan of Hillary...but I prefer her over Obama any day. That's how I really feel about all this. I definitely am not behind McCain,
because I'm not a Republican, and don't think I'd be too thrilled about him even if I was. So...I don't particularly love any of the
candidates, but I'm beginning to like Hillary more and more. I just didn't want to get my hopes up before, because it looked like Obama might get the
nomination. Now I'm not so sure what will happen!

I'm starting to move over from the Barack side to the Hillary side. I don't like that he "pandered" to Canada after dissing the NAFTA
arrangement in one of his speeches, or was it a debate? And he was seeming a bit cocky after all his consecutive wins. I do, however, think that a
Clinton-Obama ticket would be ideal for the democratic party. Chances of winning in the general election would increase dramatically, plus Obama would get the
experience he needs in the administration, serving as VP. For the record, I always thought McCain would be the very best nominee. He's honest and he
doesn't always take party sides (which is probably what has got the conservatives mad at him); he votes from his heart; I like that. The one thing I
don't like about McCain is that he calls everybody "my friend".

Hi everyone, just wanted to share that this weekend, I am attending a meeting to plan for a big "Vote for Hillary Fair"...The fair is going to be a
big event in downtown Pittsburgh. I don't know what my role will be yet, but I definitely plan to help out, and will find out more at this weekend's
meeting. I'll keep you all updated!

I'm so happy so see so many talking about this election. I think all of you have valid points. Michelle, yes I agree with you that Obama looked mad. I also
think he looked a bit flaky and evil at times. I can't really explain it but it was one of those gut feelings and I have learned after many years that
it's good to follow my gut extincts as they are almost always right. When the race between Hillary and Obama started I didn't really know who I was
going to support but after last Tuesday's vote and seeing him on TV I made my mind up very fast.
Maggie: I agree with you on the universal health care. I don't think it will ever work here in the US for the reasons you gave. The insurance companies have too much pull, they are getting far too rich to give in to universal health coverage and the doctors are getting too rich too. I have a friend who lives in Canada and she said the universal health care is awful. She said she can't get in to see a doctor unless she is dying and has to go to ER and that you can never see the same doctor twice. Plus the doctors don't really care because they are paid a salary like any other worker and it doesn't matter if they see 1 person or 50, they still get the same pay. I just don't see Americans going for that. I mean just look at what happened with the Medicare part D when it began a couple of years. It was a nightmare, just think of that a million times over. It would be horrible I think. And good luck this weekend with the fair. Please post all about it will you. feelines: Sometimes I wish I didn't get many channels either because the political talk get overwhelming at times. Tiffany |

I got within 30 feet of Barak Obama last night and all my doubts about him were dashed. I didn't see or hear anything at all creepy or scary or flaky about
him. I waited out in the cold for several hours in a long line of people to get into an arena that holds 9,000. Got to about 50 feet of the entrance and the
place was filled to capacity, so about 3,000 (guestimate) people went around to the back of the arena on a field where Barak addressed us first before going
inside and delivering his speech which we could hear over the speakers out in the field. It was absolutely amazing, and although I was stiff and freezing I was
uplifted and inspired by him. I don't know that seeing Hillary could match him in motivation but would like to see her to compare.
It's a tight race, but I think Obama will be our next president. I HOPE SO.... |

Nothing Obama could say could change my mind. If he gets into office our country will turn upside down in the worst way. I truly believe the man is evil and to
top that off he is nothing but a racist. The things his pastor said about white people and America made me want to puke. Obama's wife is a true racist. She
herself said basically what their lovely Rev. Wright said about a month before we found out about the good Rev. I haven't had feelings like this in years
but you mark my words, if Obama gets in office all the typical "white people" as Obama himself said will be paying reparations to the blacks for the
next 50 years and none of us was alive when slavery was going on. Any man who can talk about his own grandmother like Obama did, well he showed his true
colors. He is a racist and I absolutely refuse to vote for him. If he is the democratic candidate in the general election I will NOT be voting for him just
because he says he is a democrat. The man will not salute the American flag. He is totally un-American.
Of course this is just my opinion and as you guys all know I'm straight forward with my opinions. feelines....You're brave to stand in line forever to see him. I don't think I would stand in the cold to see any politician. LOL Tiffany |

Boy, this is a tough group!!! I like Obama, too, Feelines. I never have liked Hillary - I don't trust her. I think both of them have gotten stuck with some
dumb statements. I fear that McCain is too hawkish. It should be interesting. . .
