I thought I might need to join you with my latest problem.
I thought I had re-injured a disc...maybe a herniation. I tore it 6 years ago and finally seemed to get better after about 3 years. With moving recently, I started having back and leg pain that worsened daily. As I said, I thought it was the old "one disc" problem. I was in total shock Monday with my MRI Report.
Steroid ESI's and PT/Rehab is all they will do for this mess. There is no surgical option. I pretty much knew that when I saw how many disc were affected...I have no idea how I got into this mess...no one incident of anything that would have caused such an injury.
I've done a little research and run across Chirogeeks website.
Chirogeek is Dr. Douglas M. Gillard DC, QME, IDE. A great guy who gave me some great advice on the net about 3 years ago and who has some really bad back problems himself.
His site has tons of information and his personal story is incredible.
He also confirms that surgery is just not done unless a torn disc herniates, which mine have not. He has a lot of info on the types of torn discs and what to expect with treatment and prognosis.......
