Happy Birthday.  Another year
older and another year wiser. Glad you and Steve got away, to do something fun for your birthday. I would love to go to Branson and see the sights.

Thank you everyone for your wonderful birthday wishes it is much appreciated. I finally had some pumpkin cheesecake at Olive Garden
for my birthday. We went to Branson and walked around a lot. There were a lot of quilters, weavers, basket makers, blacksmiths and just a lot of Southern food
such as Apple Dumplings, Pumpkin Pie, fried sweet potatoes that are cut like french fries. I prefer them to regular french fries.
I bought a few of the handmade items in relation to sewing, but spent less than 20.00. The items I bought were pin cushions one was made to look like an icecream cone and the other was a small chicken. Also they had this little pin cushion you can put around your thumb while you are sewing. It will be really handy, because I am alway finding pins everywhere and having to run back to the pin cushion. Now I have a portable one. I also got some nice rolling storage bins from Nancy's Notions from my husband to help with my storage situation. I am really trying to get more organized, but it indeed takes time. There are rides at Silver Dollar City, but I don't pay much attention to them. I am more into the seasonal portion of the exhibits as this one celebrated the American Cowboy. It use to be called the Crafts Feastival but now it is the Autumn Harvest. There were alot of famous painters and carvers trying to sell their pieces. It wasn't really my thing but I looked. I am more into the textile part. I didn't see any shuttle tatting. I have always been interested in it, but I have enough with my sewing projects. I am looking forward to going back at Christmastime to see it all decorated up. I think it starts right after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately after about three hours of walking non-stop I couldn't walk too much further. I think it is the joint involvement with the RA or whatever I have now that is giving me tendonitis. It started hurting quite a bit. It is disappointing to have your body start failing you at my age. I took a break, ate, and took another pain pill then I started walking back towards the entrance looking at whatever we wanted. We left a couple hours early. It is pretty hilly there, so if you have a hard time walking for a long time I highly recommend you reserve a scooter or round-a-bout. You know what I am talking about those carts in Target, Kmart and Walmart. |
