hello everyone, just joined your tmj help forum,
I have had tmj for around 20 years, came on suddenly after long haul flight, and started out as a blocked feeling in left ear, then pain in jaw, severe
dizziness, and sinus pain, over the years the symtoms have changed, and it is more of a very tight muscle pulsating and tingling in jaw and into the left side
of upper gum and roof of mouth, it is there 24/7, and to accompany it my left ear feels as though there is an army of ants crawling round inside, drives me
nuts.Tried pain killers but dont do nothing, and cant swallow tablets now as got one stuck in throat and ended up not been able to even swallow food hardly for
11 weeks , and got to 7 stone, eating better now but swallowing tablets sets me off choking, i am going to a dentist who has given me a NTI device to wear
,(not given cost £250.00, had my back teeth built up to alter bite, but all this has not helped, seems to aggrivate it, came over to usa last year to the pain
centre at south amboy had heat therapy ect, and injections that didnt work, i just dont know what to do next, as getting depressed with it all, i have thought
of neuro muscular denistry, has any one had this?I have ordered some magnesium calm as it it supposed to help with the fatigue and cramps in the jaw , so will
see how it goes, forgot to mention had my neck thrown forward when someone ran into back of my car, 3 months prior to my long haul flight, also cant open my
mouth wide any more, dontt know why the treatments ive had arn't working, as i truly believe they will when i go for them, does that happen to others?.
hope you can give me some hope and guidance, all my best wishes to you all .
