When I last spoke of it, Dr. K. suggested that I see an anesthesiologist for my neck issues. He felt I would not "get better" unless I dealt w/ the neck as well. I never did go to the anesthesiologist because he wasn't in my plan for one reason and I didn't want "surgery" or another set of TPIs which didn't help me when they were given to me by Dr. K.
So, I waited the 3 mos. and went back to see Dr. K. last week. He told me that he didn't send me to the anesthesiologist for TPIs. He did send me for "surgery" (so to speak) where they would block the pain in my neck by doing something to the nerves. I wasn't comfortable w/ that at all.
So, Dr. K. adjusted the splint I've been using and he gave me a schedule so I could wean myself off of it. I'll begin that in early July. Dr. K. believes (and I do too) that "most" of my problems stem from the muscles in the neck and head. So, $6,500. later...... Anyway, I don't exactly feel like I wasted any money (although, I really could have done without the $6,500. loan that I'm still paying off). I know I had to try the treatment and I went in with no guarantees.
So for now, I am seeing the MT 2x a week. I'm reading the Trigger Point Therapy Workbook, using the TheraCane and the tennis balls in the sock on my back and praying that w/ alot of patience, I will overcome this nightmare.
