Hello,
Looks like everything is going fine around here. Sorry I haven't been around much. Thanks for the notice. I'm doing the same, which is ok. No surgery, everything stable and still traveling. I'll try to check in on you more often. I got lucky. I waited it out, tried a few non-invasive treatments and got to a place that I can live with. No one doctor or dentist. I don't even know what helped the most. One of the splints may have made some difference. One that didn't change anything much. Good luck to all of you. TMJD does not have to win. Until next time, take care. Donna Mae ![]() |

Fortunately for me, I found help with a Naprosyn prescription from my doctor, along with Protonix (acid reducer for ulcer patients, so I could handle the Naprosyn). This reduced the inflammation so that the joint could recover, apparently. I had to take the meds for a month. I still have a sore muscle (mandibular) and sore nerves, but I have been doing neck exercises (yoga type) and jaw exercises from Robado's recommendations. These help, but must be done daily. As long as my jaw is no longer snapping out of joint, I will do the exercises! It's worth it. Many, like me, don't realize that arthritis can affect the jaw joints also, and take a toll on wear and tear. And whatever you do, learn not to clench your jaw, any time! In stressful situations, open your mouth, bite your lip, anything to keep from clenching. This helps eliminate a harmful habit. Hope this info helps someone....
