Has anyone used Methocarbamol? |

A few moths ago my doctor put me on Methocarbamol as a muscle relaxant. My doctor warned me that it would make me tired and dizzy but it should take the pain away. For the first few weeks after I was put on the medicine I was not allowed to drive in fear that I would fall alseep at the whell. Instead the medicine really has no effect, the pain is still present and the medicine actually makes me very energetic...I can't seem to sit still after I take it. I was curious if anyone else had been put on this drug??

I was put on this, but was told it was a mild muscle relaxant. It really didn't have any effect on my pain, but did help me to relax my jaw a bit.

I haven't heard of Methocarbamol, but I think I've tried every muscle relaxer out there for my "TMJ" headaches - flexeril, zanaflex, skelaxin, and soma. Soma definitely works the best and I've heard from others on the boards that Soma works best for them as well. It doesn't completely get rid of the pain and it only lasts 3 hours for me, but hey anything to get a little relief.

I think this is Robaxin, correct? I have tried this with little help. I found it to be useless and all it did was cause an upset tummy. I also use Soma and out of all the muscle relaxers out there (and I have tried almost all of them) this is the one I have found the most effective and actually does work. I think alot of us have found Soma to be effective. And I have been on it for a while and it has not lost its effectiveness thank god.

My current doctor prescribed methocarbomal for me. I didn't notice a difference with it. It didn't make me sleepy like they said it would.
I had been on Soma, but one didn't seem to work and two about put me out of it. In hindsight, I wish I still had it, because it sure beat the Robaxin (methocarbomal) and it is hands down better over nothing, which is what i have now. lol Karen |
