treating you for any illness, but especially for an illness associated with chronic...

PARIS (AFP) - Scientists have found a way to release the pain-relieving potential of one of the same proteins in the body activated by marijuana, according
to a study released Sunday.

In experiments on mice, researchers found a chemical that prevents a naturally occurring enzyme from blocking this cannabinoid receptor, called
2-arachidonoylgylcerol, or 2-AG.

Once the enzyme, known as MAGL, is deactivated, the protein is more effective in dampening pain, say the team, led by Benjamin Cravatt of the Scripps
Research Institute in La Jolla, California.

The complex human cannabinoid system is thought to hold great potential for the control of chronic pain, and could also prove useful in the treatment of
anxiety, depression and even obesity.

In earlier research, Cravatt and colleagues decoded the chain of...

Do any of you wake up in pain?

This question really relates to the article that Michelle posted on depression and chronic pain. I wake up in excruciating pain and I find that I'm getting
real anxious about going to bed because I know how I'll wake up. I keep the pain pills by the bed but they really don't work that well in the morning.
Usually by later in the afternoon, I've had enough drugs to feel better (although most of them are downers).

What I'm wondering about is that the article talks about being "passive" in response to the pain. I'm trying to experiment with different
things to work on this but not having much success. How do any of you deal with this. I find that it certainly does not start the day off very well and does
accentuate my feelings of helplessness.
